Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and I want to tell you I am so excited for it! But the truth of the matter is, the hubs and I celebrate love all the time. And while I am looking forward to the special occasion and guaranteed flowers, date night is a regularity in our home.
There was a long period of time where we didn’t put our marriage first in life. A new baby, moving across the world and “too much work” always got in the way of date night or carving out time for one another. And it took it’s toll.
But the minute we decided to make date night a priority, just like working out or going to the dentist, we saw huge changes in our home, marriage and even our selves. Needless to say, we don’t miss a date night anymore. Even if it means we are staying in.
Whether we go out on the town and head to a broadway show, or stay in and cook dinner together, sharing a bottle of wine distraction free, every week we plan out a time to focus on each other.
That means that date night doesn’t always look as glam as it could! So, I am sharing some of my favorite date night looks! Specifically for the upcoming lovers’ holiday, that can be super casual for those mid-week Costco dates. And more fun and feminine for the special nights out!

I’m still in love with this blush jacket from Old Navy. It gives just enough of a nod to Valentine’s day to make these outfits festive, without looking like an overdone costume. I love mixing the faux leather leggings with it to counteract the softness of the pink jacket.
I’m currently very much in love with this red wrap peplum top that I grabbed when I did my loft try on the other day. It is so pretty and incredibly flattering. It just makes me feel so feminine and womanly when I wear it. Super cute with a more relaxed, grandpa cardigan and flats. Or with a classic wool coat and heels.
I think I will always and forever wish to be cooler than I am. And a classic moto jacket gives me that vibe. Distressed denim and block heel boots give this look a more casual feel, while super skinny jeans and a classic black heel make it just a bit more glam.
