It is no secret that I love a good midi skirt. There is something that is so retro and classic about a mid length skirt. From pleats to button fronts, I don’t discriminate when it comes to midis. And the more fun the better!
I wanted to share three very different midi skirts today styled a few different ways. You could easily swap out the bottom for another skirt on any of these outfits and be good to go.
Proportions
The key to making a midi skirt flattering is all in the proportions. You want your skirt to either come just below your knee or cut right below the widest part of the calf. This is going to keep you from looks too short or like your legs have been chopped in odd places.
Next, find your waist! By focusing your eye on the natural waist, you keep things looking a lot longer and more feminine. So tuck in that shirt, tie a knot, or throw on a belt!
When and Where
I feel like midi skirts are the most versatile when it comes to different occasions. The length makes them easily “appropriate” for more formal events, church, or special occasions. Just throw on a heel and a blousy top.
Alternately, you can easily dress them down with sneakers and a french tucked tank. No need for formality when you can easily sit on the grass for a picnic.
