Every season comes around and I compile a list of books I want to read. I love having my Amazon wish list set, so when I finish one book mid pool lounge, I can download the next one without skipping a beat.
This is one of my favorite posts to put together, honestly. I have always been such a book nerd. I learned to read pretty early, and have spent more hours than I would like to admit with my book in a nose. Tears, laughter, love. All of it come from a good book, and I am here for the best of the best!

Easy Breezey
During the summer, I keep things light and easy. I’m usually reading at the park or splash pad while my oldest plays, or outside. It is easy to have squirrel moments, and I don’t want to have to think too much when keeping one eye out for my oldest.
Books that suck me in from the first chapter, make me quickly feel for the characters or hook me with some thrill are what I look for in a summer read. I don’t want anything too intense or heavy when I have a glass of crips rosé in one hand!
With that being said, I do love a little suspense. SO many of you recommended reading Verity by Colleen Hoover and I devoured that book over the Memorial Day weekend. It was stressful and intense, without being too scary or thought provoking. I save those for the winter when I am cozied up on the couch.
Without further ado, I’ve put together my top picks for the summer. There are 13 books in the list, if you include Verity above! That is one for every week from now till Labor Day. Just enough to get you through those hot summer days and a bottle or two of sunscreen at the beach.
