White jeans terrify me. For so many reasons. From getting them dirty, to showing my cellulite. I just have been super hesitant about them for a long time. But I grabbed a pair from Madewell, and committed to wearing them! And guess what?? I have worn them a few times, and each time has given me just a bit more confidence.
The RIGHT pair of white jean is really going to make all the difference. For myself, I wanted a straighter, more relaxed leg to keep things from looking too stuffed sausage esque. And I just want to be comfortable. The tighter the jean, the more likely it is to be see through, as well. Even with thick, high quality denim.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN SHOPPING FOR WHITE JEANS
- RELAXED FIT – A tight white jeans is going to show every single lump, bump and crevice. Size up or choose a straight leg fit.
- ANKLE LENGTH – I love the look of a cropped white jean. If it gets too long, especially in a relaxed fit, it can start to look a little frumpy
- COLOR MATTERS – I discovered this while searching that I actually didn’t want a BRIGHT white jean. More of an egg shell, but not quite cream. Somewhere in the middle is the most classic.
- QUALITY OVER QUANTITY – I say this all the time, but one great pair of jeans will do you so much more than a few pairs of ok jeans. Save up, wait for a sale, or scour second hand shops and Poshmark for the perfect pair. It will be worth the wait to have a pair that fits your body and style like a glove.

MY FAVORITE PAIR
Last year, I did a huge white jean search and tried almost ten different brands, styles and price points. These are by far my favorite pair. They have a decent amount of stretch to them, fit nicely in the waist without being tight, and have a perfect straight leg. I have the chewed hem version from last year, but the traditional hem would even be work appropriate.
HOW TO STYLE WHITE JEANS FOR SPRING
When the weather warms up, I love to add lots of loose, lightweight tops to my wardrobe, like this one from Loft. It is breathable, airy, and just gives off major Hamptons vibes. An easy rattan slide and light colors cross body make the outfit effortless.
A graphic tee shirt is a wardrobe staple in the spring. It adds a fun pop under sweaters and jackets, but still looks super cute if it gets too warm for your third piece. A pair of strappy wedges with a heel really bring this outfit up a notch, making it perfect for Girls’ Night Out or date night. You could easily swap the utility jacket for a tan suede moto, or pop on a pair of sneakers. CIAO shirt is no longer available.
LIVE YOUR BEST MONOCHROMATIC LIFE
This is honestly my favorite way to wear white jeans. Really soft, simple, and a monochromatic looks just screams chic to me. If you are hesitating to wear your new white jeans, try adding on your “security” blanket. For me, a super cozy sweatshirt is a great way to break in a new item in my closet. It feels like home and doesn’t look like I’m trying too hard. And yet, it still looks perfect.
Is a style session complete without a denim jacket? Probably not. But this is pretty much the only time I will rock the denim on denim trend. Canadian Tuxedos aren’t quite right for me. But white jeans are the easiest way to make the most of your denim jacket. I love layering something unexpected, like this knit cardigan, underneath. Get more wear out of your cardigans by buttoning them up and wearing as a top!
Silk is another one of those items I am always afraid to wear. BUT THIS IS THE TIME. For no reason. What is the point in having nice things if we don’t wear them? A simple cardigan, pair of sneakers and a backpack make a silk cami doable for every day mom life. Backpack is no longer available.
