It’s that time of year! Boot season. It took a while for things to cool down here in New York, but we are finally getting some cooler weather. I am living for it! I took out all of my sweaters from storage and set up my boots front and center. Bring on the fall fashion!
When I first started pulling boots for this post, I was just linking everything that was available. But I wanted to switch gears and put something together a little more edited for you guys. It is overwhelming enough to shop for wide calf boots. I put together a few lists of the best boots for wide calves. I have tried at least one pair of boots from almost all of these brands before.
Not all of these boots are going to be a Wide Width, so keep that in mind when you are browsing through. If you are looking for extra wide calf boots, Torrid and Lane Bryant are also really great places to check out, as both have extended wide calf options.
I hope this post helps you find the right pair of boots for you.
If you are worried about finding a boot to fit, I highly recommend choosing a real leather pair. While they may be snug or not quite zip when they arrive, you can take them to a cobbler to have them stretched up to an entire inch or two. They also will last you much longer and just get better with wear.

Something I learned as a short person (with short legs). Short people need to add 2 inches onto boot widths to have them fit. My calves at 17” but 18” width boots do not fit. Isn’t that so weird?!?!? I need at least a 19” width for them to work. You posted about the Naturalizer boots and posted your measurement. I bought them and they didn’t fit!
Wow, I had no idea! Im so sorry they didn’t work out for you!
