This has been the year of simplification for all things. Routines, homes, skincare, and of course makeup! I love trying new products, and I’m always on board with a no-makeup look. Minimal is in and Merit Beauty has done a perfect job at curating the perfect collection.
If you are someone who likes to keep things simple but still wants to feel luxurious and chic, I would highly suggest checking out the new to Sephora Merit Beauty. Merit Beauty is a clean beauty brand that has focused their brand on combining needs and wants and making essentials that will stand the test of time on your makeup shelf. Because at the end of the day, how many of us are actually using those 20 shade eyeshadow pallets?
Merit Beauty is a clean brand that follows the EU standards, which are much stricter than those in place for beauty products in the US. Not only that, all of the products are vegan, cruelty free, and sustainable. They are way ahead of the game in production, shipping, and keeping their packaging recyclable, biodegradable, or reusable! Love to hear it!
I gave the entire collection a run through to test it out, and I am absolutely in love. Everything was so light, fresh, and dewy, exactly what I look for in everyday makeup.
The Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Foundation and Concealer Stick
I’m not normally a fan of complexion sticks, as many are heavy, thick, or hard to blend, The Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Foundation and Concealer Stick is a total dream. It is super creamy and gives really great natural coverage. It has a natural finish that isn’t too dewy but still fresh. I’ve worn it every day for the last week and love the look it gives. I went with the shade linen, and it is perfect for my winter skin.
I’ve been using it this past week with the Tapered Blending Brush, which I love. It is super soft and not too densely packed, which helps to give the foundation a flawless, but natural finish.
The Flush Balm Cream Blush
Cream blush is usually hit or miss for me, as it seems to not last very well on my skin. But The Flush Balm Cream Blush is magic! It is super dewy and a little sheer, but very buildable. It blends out like a dream without removing the foundation underneath and it was still on my skin when I removed my makeup at the end of the day. There are quite a few gorgeous shades, but my favorite is Terracotta, which acts as almost a blush/bronzer hybrid.
Brow 1980 Volumizing Eyebrow Pomade Gel
I’m pretty picky about brow products, as you probably already know! I was surprised to find out that I really liked this one! It isn’t perfect, as it doesn’t hold my brows in place quite as much as I like. But I love the subtle amount of color it gives and the fact that it lets me forgo filling my brows in. The Brown is a perfect match for me.
Clean Lash Lengthening Mascara
This is the one, people! This mascara is BOMB. I have hooded lids with puffy under eyes, and it is practically impossible to find a traditional, non-tubing mascara that doesn’t smudge and run on me. Especially during these cold, mask-wearing months! But the Clean Lash Lengthening Mascara doesn’t budge a bit. It gives lashes a natural, fluttering effect. It isn’t super volumizing, but I can let that go for the magic that is it actually staying put!
Shade Slick Tinted Lip Oil
I’m not one to wear lip gloss or anything very sticky on my lips. I prefer to wear a true lipstick, but I really like the Shade Slick Tinted Lip Oil. It is super smooth, has just a hint of color, and doesn’t feel tacky or sticky. I also really appreciate that it doesn’t have a weird taste to it. The shade Au Naturel would look great on almost anyone!
Overall, this is a launch that I am SO in love with. It is rare for me to love everything in a line or feel that I could make a full face with one brand. But my makeup habits over the last week have proved me very wrong. Merit makes a fresh, pulled together face effortless, quick, and clean!
