I am convinced there are two types of people in the world. Those who enjoy spending time in their bedroom and those who only ever go in their room to sleep. I fall into the latter category, but since having my youngest, I have spent more time in the bedroom than ever before. From nursing, to naps, to diaper changes, we are officially bedroom dwellers. I wanted to brighten up our space a tad for summer and to make it a more inviting place to spend countless hours.
This post has been sponsored by Walmart Home. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
I loved how our master bedroom had come together, even with the addition of a bassinet and all things baby being squeezed in. It’s all part of small space living. But we were missing a few key elements and our bedding was very autumnal.
I have been on the hunt for something to go over our bed for well over a year. I have picked out countless mirrors, art pieces, and shelves, but nothing felt quite right. Walmart has really been surprising me with its options lately. They have really stepped up and Walmart Home has so many great quality pieces at affordable prices. Especially in their art department! I found so many gorgeous prints and canvases, it was hard to narrow things down.
I wanted to keep things more on the neutral side but with some a pop for summer. I ended up ordering a few prints to see what I liked best and what would work in our space. Drew Barrymore Home and Kate and Laurel were some of my favorite brands when it came to searching for art pieces. I bought these three prints but obviously ended up going with the gallery wall.
Gallery walls can be so intimidating. It is hard to know what goes with what and where. This five piece set from Walmart Home makes it super easy. Everything is already done for you! It even comes with a template page that you tape up to the wall to easily place the frames with zero guesswork involved. I love that the colors are very desert-inspired but not overpowering in our room. It is a perfect fit.
For a little update to our bedding situation, I am all about adding texture interest and contrast when it comes to decor. Pulling in some colors from the prints, I opted for a pink sheet set (so unlike me!) and I absolutely LOVE it. It really just makes the room pop and feel a little more unique.
I found this amazing lightweight quilt with a beautiful diamond pattern that is perfect for the summer months. That is another thing about rooming in with a baby… We can’t have the room nearly as cold as we normally like, and it has been an adjustment. I am always too hot with the duvet now, and the quilt is the perfect summer weight.
I added in a gorgeous set of green throw pillows that have a beautiful texture. They have great structure and don’t flop like so many decorative pillows. And they are super soft! The yellow pillow adds a little variety with a linen feel to the fabric and a really fun stitch pattern. I just love the whole vibe!
I’d love to know what you think of this little refresh I did. It is a little outside my comfort zone, but I really do love the way everythign turned out!
You can shop even more affordable art and great quality home decor at your local Walmart or Walmart.com!
Love the look! The mismatched colors with coordinating tones work perfectly together. ❤️
