My skin post pregnancy has been WILD. It has gone from dry to oily, balanced to pimple city. And my body hasn’t been much difference. The skin on my body during pregnancy was SO good, and since I have birth, it’s tanked drastically.
I’ve never had perfect skin. Dry knees and elbows have always plagued me, nothing too bad. And every now and then, I’d get tiny little bumps on the backs of my legs and arms. This is commonly known as chicken skin, or Keratosis Pilaris.
Almost immediately after having my son, the skin on the backs of my arms and legs broke out in serious KP. The worst I’ve ever had it. My skin was dry and I had so many of those tiny little bumps. So frustrating.
I started using two products to try to combat the KP and almost immediately saw a difference!
KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub 10% AHA
This body scrub is not for the faint of heart. It also isn’t one that feels super luxe or spa like. This is an exfoliate with a job to do, and it does it’s job WELL! It combines a mixture of AHA’s – Glycolic and Lactic acid – with pumice beads to help loosen up clogged pores and smooth the skin. It’s essentially doing the double duty of a chemical peel and microdermabrasion at the same time.
It can feel a little rough on some of my more delicate spots, so I stick to using this just on my arms, the backs of my thighs, and my booty. I saw an immediate difference after using this! I use this about twice a week, or whenever I wash my hair. It’s totally fragrance free! Despite being super powerful, it isn’t too harsh.
Bom Dia Bright Cream
I’ve shared about this moisturizer before, but I seriously can’t stop signing it’s praises. I love it so so much. Sol de Janeiro does body cream very well, but the Bom Dia Bright Cream is extra special.
It’s a retexturizing cream that gently exfoliates while it hydrates. It’s packed with vitamin C and naturally sourced AHA’s to gently smooth out the skin. It also has willow bark acid which is packed with salicin, the natural source of salicylic acid. This helps to keep those pores clear and fight the KP from coming back.
It has a different scent to the original Bum Bum Cream, and it’s become my favorite smell. It doesn’t linger on the skin for long, which I appreciate! I usually apply this every night, from décolletage to toes.
If you’ve been struggling with clogged pores on your body or the every annoying KP like I have, I highly suggest giving this power duo a try.
