Whether you are a first-time mom, have a big age gap like myself, or are in the throughs of multiples, it can be a lot of stress and worry to keep up with milestones. And when your babies are tiny, adorable, little blobs, how the heck are you even supposed to play with them?
Before I even got pregnant with baby number two, I was being served ads for Lovevery. And if you have babies, I am sure you have seen them all over social media. I was instantly intrigued by the idea of the Lovevery model. A toy subscription that is minimal, colorful, and developmentally appropriate? Sold.
I signed up for the toy subscription before I gave birth, and I was honestly a little skeptical. The Lovevery subscription felt a little pricey for baby toys when Amazon and Target exist. But I really liked that all of the guesswork was taken out of “what toys should I buy when”.
I have now gotten four Play Kits and have The Play Gym and am completely obsessed with Lovevery and their company.
Let’s chat about the subscription because I think that is where Lovevery really shines. Every two to three months, you can get a new box curated to your child’s specific age and developmental milestones.
The toys that come in the kit are Montessori-inspired and of beautiful quality. Lots of wooden toys, high-quality silicone, and even the fabric toys are amazing. They are really made to stand the test of time, are totally safe, and made with sustainable parts.
Aside from the beautiful toys, my favorite part of the Lovevery Play Kits is the parent guide that accompanies each box. You get a concise but thoughtful guide on how to play with your baby.
At first, I thought this was ridiculous. Of course, I know how to play with my baby! Why would I need a guide? But they are SO helpful. It gives insight into the why behind each toy and how you can help foster the skill that toy is meant to build.
I also purchased the Play Gym from Lovevery. Initially, I didn’t love it. I thought it was kind of pricey for what it did (it is…) But I absolutely love it at this stage, now. My baby is just turning seven months and he LOVES the mat. The little fringe spots, the photo holder, and toys we can hang all capture his attention and encourage movement and play. I definitely think you can find a more affordable play gym, but I am really happy with it! Plus, it is machine washable.
I think a Lovevery subscription would make such a great gift to a new mom, especially minimal moms. I love that they are great for our small space and take the guesswork out of what to buy. I have only purchased a small handful of additional toys, most of which are for on the go, not for home.
Happy to answer any specific questions as I eagerly await our next box.
