While my love of makeup never ends, what I use on a regular basis changes with the seasons. We are now deep into winter, and my skin is feeling the cold weather, which means I have swapped out a few of my staple products in my daily makeup routine.
I like to keep things simple and familiar on an everyday basis, as this helps me be quick and efficient in the mornings. I only have so much time to get ready with an eight-month-old! Doing the same routine more or less every day keeps things streamlined and easy.
My Everyday Makeup Routine
For my base, I always start with SPF. My go-to sunscreen is either Supergoop! Glowscreen or Unseen Sunscreen. Both have SPF 40. Glowscreen gives me more of a dewy skin base while Unseen Sunscreen helps keep my makeup on longer.
I still absolutely love the other foundations I used before, but I have swapped to using the Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. While I wouldn’t say this is hydrating or super glowy, it lasts all day long and doesn’t cling to my skin when it is dry. The shades are kind of weird, so be sure to use my tips for finding your perfect match online! Using a Beauty Blender is my favorite method of application for this foundation.
I can’t shout my love for this Makeup Forever HD Self-Setting Concealer. It is SO good. I definitely have more “mature” under eyes, and this doesn’t age me further or settle into my fine lines throughout the day. It is a medium coverage that just looks amazing.
For my brows, I have been using the Benefit Cosmetics Precisely My Brow Pencil, and it is great. I use shade 3.5 and outline my brows very slightly before combing with the spoolie.
I am all about cream products in winter! In a move that has probably shocked the world… I have given up my all-time favorite blush for the time being and swapped to the Nudestix Nudies Matte Blush in the shade Naughty N’ Spice. It is STUNNING. I feel like it gives me that perfect winter flush like I have been out in the cold and my cheeks naturally pink.
I’m trying a few different cream bronzer, but have really enjoyed the Milk Makeup Matte Cream Bronzer in Baked. It blends easily and doesn’t come off patchy, which can happen with lots of cream bronzers.
Once I have applied all of my cream products, I lightly set the face with the Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder. This is my ride or die. Nothing compares. It is pricey, but I only have to buy one a year (ish), so I justify it!
For eyeshadow, I always love cream products, and the Bobbi Brown Longwear Cream Shadow Sticks are outstanding. They are so soft and creamy, blend like a dream, and don’t crease at all throughout the day. My favorite shades are Truffle, Taupe, and Dusty Mauve.
I am not very particular about mascara, but don’t currently have a recommendation! I have found that my mascara is forever transferring with the use of masks and condensation in the cold, which is so frustrating. I am on the hunt for something new and fresh that I love.
Once all of my makeup is on, I give everything a spritz with the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray. When I say spritz, I really mean six or seven good sprays to melt everything together!
Looking back at this list, it feels like a lot of products for my daily makeup, but it honestly takes me less than seven minutes to get ready in the morning!
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk (nude pink) will forever be my favorite lipstick. It is truly the perfect “my lips but better” shade for me. But I’ve really been loving using something glossy, like the Fenty Gloss Bomb! I am super particular about lip gloss, and this is one of my favorites.
