We’ve had quite a few adventures along the road this summer going back and forth from our home in the city to our home in CT. While the drive is “only” two hours, it’s enough time to warrant some decent planning before being in the car with young kids. I’ve found some awesome accessories, activities, and some beautiful travel bags that would make road trips more organized and enjoyable!
Ok but can we agree that a quick road trip feels luxurious when you have a gorgeous bag to pack? Mine might be filled with fruit snacks and diapers, but this Madewell bag is just beautiful. There are so many pockets inside everything stays organized, and the buttery leather makes me swoon. If leather isn’t your thing, West Elm has a great travel tote that is the perfect size for a quick day trip.
It goes without saying a good car emergency kit should be at the top of your list if you don’t already have one. I know I feel so much better knowing I’ve got jumper cables, tire inflator, and other emergency items all together in a single kit.
I don’t know about you, but I require the comfiest of clothes if I’m going to be in the car for more than an hour. Just me? I love these pants from Old Navy. They’re literally called Sunday Sleep Ultra-Soft…so safe to say they’re great for traveling.
I love having an organizer in the backseat that is insulated so food and drinks can be kept cold. I especially love this one with all the pockets for the infinite amount of trash that seems to accumulate whenever my son is in the car!
I found some great activity books that can buy you some quiet time, and I love this magnetic tangram that includes a book of puzzles that even stumped me! I also found this back seat organizer from Target that proves useful for back seat passengers needing a space for everything. Because is hangs from the back of the front seat, it even holds a tablet for an extra long journey.
