For whatever reason, when the sun starts shining, all I want to do is lay in the grass and read. I’ve always been a bookworm, but it really comes out in the summer. My sister would drop me off at Barne’s and Noble on her way to work when I was 14, and I would spend hours browsing the isles while she worked. She would pick me up when closing time rolled around and I would have consumed an entire book during her shift.
Now that I am a mom, life seems too busy a lot of the time to sit down a binge an entire book. No staying up until four am trying to cram one more chapter in. But, between riding the subway, creating some time for myself on a regular basis and my oldest being big enough to sneak in a few pages at the playground, I am going to try to get in a ton of reading this season.
I plan on sharing my seasonal reading list for moms every time the weather changes! I love reading these for inspiration and hope you can find something that will pick you up and take you to a far away place! These are books on my own list that I am hoping to get through over the next few months, and probably a few more before the season ends!

By Invitation Only – Two families from the south, one trying to do, one well to do, and their children who are madly in love. A funny, witty telling of two families from different worlds brought together when it is time to say “I Do.”
On Chesil Beach – I’m a sucker for a period piece and this romance set in 1962 is the first book I plan on reading this summer. A pair of newlyweds afraid of the “wedding night” in Great Britain? Give it to me!
When Life Gives You Lululemons – I LOVED The Devil Wears Prada, and this is all about Miranda Priestly’s first assistant, Emily Charlton. It is set in Greenwich CT and boasts just as much fashion, drama and over the top frenemies as the first book.
The Last Miss Parish – If you liked Gone Girl, this is the book for you. I love a goos psychological thriller, and I don’t think this will disappoint.
Crazy Rich Asians – I’m so excited to read this one! A total escape reality book with incredible wealth, deception and fabulous, lavish lifestyles!
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo – Old Hollywood glam meets the upper east side. An aging star spills all her secrets to an ambitious journalist in a massive exposé.
The Feather Thief : Beauty, Obsession and the Natural History Heist of the Century – I’ve been obsessed with true crime and this true story is meant to read like a classic thriller novel. Can’t wait to get sucked in.

Pinning this for later. I think that it is about time that I get lost in a good book again. Thanks so much for the recommendations 🙂
Typical mom excuse….but I haven’t had the time to read a good book in so long! I would love to get sucked into a good novel like I used to. These all sound so amazing I would probably just read them all!!
Try audiobooks! Listening helped me get back into reading after having Marcus! <3
These are great options. I’m gonna have to add some of this to my list

OOOH I read The Last Mrs. Parrish and it was really good!
While I am not a mom, I do love myself a great book and I actually picked up Crazy Rich Asians in the airport on my way to London. I never got a chance to read it, but I actually thought about starting the novel this weekend because I’d definitely want to read the book before seeing the movie that’s coming out.
Great list! x
