It is officially summer in the city, which means the humidity is up, the tourists are coming in droves, and I feel like I start sweating the minute I walk out the door. Super fun, right? In all honesty, summer in the city is totally magical once you get used to it all. But right now, I am still adjusting!
This weekend is a busy one for us. We are traveling to Utah for the holiday weekend and will definitely be barbecuing it up! Between flights and summer heat, I am planning my makeup accordingly – long lasting, fresh, and sweat proof! There are four drugstore products you need to beat the heat and keep your makeup in place this weekend. And all summer!
I keep my makeup light and minimal when the temperature rises, but I still want a fresh, almost flawless complexion and a bright pop of color that isn’t going to melt away.

Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder
I had been on the hunt for a great setting powder for my concealer for a while. Powder isn’t something I want to spend a ton of money on, especially if you consider that you waste so much when you “bake” your concealer. This powder is AMAZING. It is super affordable, and does a great job at brightening under my eyes. The packaging isn’t the greatest, because the lid doesn’t actually screw on, just pull off and on. A little risky for travel!
Mabelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze
If I could only use one eyeshadow for the rest of my life, this would be it. Hands down. I have repurchased it multiple times and it is THE BEST cream shadow out there. This color specifically goes on super smooth, and it blends like a total dream. The best thing is that it does. not. crease. At all. I don’t even wear a primer or anything with this and it looks perfect when I wash my face 12 hours later. The 24 hour wear is no joke!
I like to apply it with my finger and just blend it all over my lid through my crease. Ill take a tiny shadow brush and run it across my lower lash line to finish it up. Easy and simple, it works for day or night. And will last through the hottest day of the year.
L’Oreal Double Extend Mascara
During those hot summer months, I normally will have to wear some kind of waterproof mascara. My eyelids get oily throughout the day, and between that and the sweat, I end up looking like a total panda by noon. I had heard about this awesome tubular mascara that came off with just water and was intrigued. It actually works really well at both getting some volume and lengthening, thanks to the primer on one end! Perfect for daytime.
I have worn this over and over, and it has yet to flake or show even the smallest smudge on my under-eyes. The Double Extend is so bizarre! It won’t budge with even the best makeup remover. But as soon as I soak a cotton pad with water, it comes right off in lash looking strands! I thought my lashes were falling out. But the mascara just forms little tiny tubes around your lashes! Taking it off is probably the most satisfying part of my skincare routine in the evening.
Sephora Liquid Lip in 01
This last one is technically not found at the drugstore, but it is priced like it! The Sephora Liquid Lips are probably the best liquid lipsticks I have found in this price point. Especially, the red color – shade 01. When choosing a liquid lipstick, I want it to glide on smooth in one swipe to keep caking up from happening. It needs to dry quickly and not bleed as the day goes on. This girl has no time for lip liner! I can wear this gorgeous, bold red lip with zero stress or worry that it is going to end up on my chin or feathering around my lips. Another product I will keep repurchasing!
Don’t let the warm weather mess up your makeup. Get these products to beat the heat and keep your look on point!
What are you favorite looks to wear during the summer?
That red really suits you, such a pretty shade
Thank you! It is my favorite! <3
I love the sephora lipstick and I just used bad to the bronze in one of my most recents tutorial and fell completely back in love with it, I’d love to get the Coty Airspoon but it’s a struggle to find here XD
Isn’t the Bad to the Bronze amazing!? I will have to check out your tutorial! <3
Great finds! I need to try Sephora Liquid Lip!
It is the best! <3
It isn’t easy to find products that work that don’t break the budget. I can’t tell you how much money I’ve wasted on expensive products that are just “so-so.” Having a tried and true list at hand is a welcome help.
I will definitely be trying out that face powder because I hate how sweaty my face looks as the temperatures rise. Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for the tips..always looking for heat friendly products in Tampa!
I have been wanting to try the Color Tattoo eyeshadows. Maybelline and L’Oreal have high-quality makeup at affordable prices. I love both brands. You chose a great compilation list.
You look so good with a red lip! I also love Loreal mascara. Every time I stray and try something else I always come back to it.
I absolutely love all these products.!! Thanks for sharing.!!
I love this! I’m going to save it because we have a big trip next month! Thank you!
