I can’t believe that the first day of fall is this weekend. Don’t get me wrong, I am READY for the autumn!. But it also means that it is almost Halloween, which is practically Christmas, which may as well be 2019. Like… No. Can’t go there yet!
I made myself a summer reading list that I shared with you guys, and not only did you love it, but I read almost every single book! Did I have time to read? Definitely not! But I skipped vacuuming or laundry a few times, listened to a few on Audible, and fell back in love with books.
I am going to keep up with reading a book every week or so this fall, and my list has grown. A lot! These books aren’t necessarily top sellers or Oprah’s picks. They are just books I personally want to read over the next few months. There is nothing cozier than a hot cup of coffee, a bench in central park and a good book.
If you are new around here, you have to know that I have zero shame in a rom com book, a little Nancy Drew esque mystery is my jam, and that cook books totally count as reading material. I like to use books like I do TV. Nothing overly scary. Nothing that is going to make me horribly sad. Just an escape from reality that I have to binge read.
So, here is the list!

- A Simple Favor – I want to read this book first! I am a die hard Blake Lively fan (Serena VDW for president!), and always like to read a book before I see a movie. I just downloaded this one to my Kindle! This is meant to be a psychological thriller (my favorite) a la Gone Girl.
- Educated: A Memoir – Talk about girl power. This book is all about a girl whose family kept her out of school for her whole life. She then goes onto earn a Phd. I love a good self discovery story!
- Sharp Objects – The series of this on HBO is all anyone can talk about. But again, I have to read the book before I can watch the show!
- The Secrets You Keep – This is one I am most excited about. I love Katie White as an author and every book she writes keeps me up reading until two in the morning. They are so addicting!
- The Feather Thief – This books has INCREDIBLE reviews. I don’t normally go for “popular” books, but this story really has me intrigued!
- Girls Burn Brighter – Do we need anything more than the title to pick up this book? It is the story of two Indian girls who find their way out and into America after fighting through some serious obstacles.
- Snobs: A Novel – This book was on Amazon’s “recommended to you” after I devoured the Crazy Rich Asians series (highly recommend! So much better than the movie. Which was also fabulous.) From the description, it is the British version of CRA. Totally on board with that!
- Crazy Little Thing – A little romance. A little mystery. My favorite novels usually involve a crazy ex of some sort, so this will be a good one!
- To All the Boys I Loved Before – The Netflix original movie of this book was super cute. So much second hand embarassment that I kind of wanted to die a few times. I am sure the book won’t disappoint! And there are a few follow up books!
- Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat: Mastering the Elements of Good Cooking – This is meant to be THE book that teaches you how to cook. As in, create your own recipes, know what flavors go with what, and teach you to start creating your own recipes. This is one of those cookbooks that will forever be on my shelf!
That’s it for now! Tell me what you are reading lately! What has been the best book you have just devoured in the last few months? Did you get to your summer reading list?
