Fall is my favorite time of year to dress. Deep, rich jewel tones. Warm and cozy knit. Sexy booties that add the finishing touch. And layers upon layers to create dimension and texture with your outfit. When it comes to my fall wardrobe, there are a few items that just MUST be in my closet. A chic, wool coat, dark wash skinny jeans, snuggly sweaters and chunky boots! I could wear these all day every day when the weather cools off.

For this chilly, autumn inspired look, I intentionally choose colors and styles that I knew were going to work with other pieces in my wardrobe. When it comes to shoes, I will always choose quality over quantity. Leather shoes with tough soles are the only way to survive walking around the city all day long. I love the style of these boots. The heel is higher than I normally go for, but the chunky shape makes them incredibly comfortable. The almost pointed toe really helps to elongate my legs and keep them looking sophisticated. And can we talk about the perfect olive color? I’m obsessed.
Using a coat as a key piece of an outfit is essential when you are out in the elements like we are in the city. I have to coordinate my outfit with outerwear! The cool toned, double faced wool coat is just too much. It is timeless and super warm, but doesn’t add unnecessary bulk. I am super picky about wool, and this coat is soft and cozy, with zero itch factor!
The fit is also perfect. A lot of times, coats just aren’t cut wide enough for my hips, but Talbots really does keep all bodies in mind with their design. The darting along the front and back made this incredibly flattering and the wide waist belt was just the icing on the cake.
