I am so excited to share my first full reveal! I probably could have waited two more weeks until every tiny thing arrived, but honestly, I’m too giddy. This screened-in porch was one of the rooms that stole my heart when we first viewed the house, and I knew it was going to be one of the first places I gave my attention.
Having little kids, a dog, and generally being someone who avoids the sun, having a screened-in porch feels extra special. I wanted to make sure that it was cozy and inviting, almost like an extension of our living room. I see us utilizing this room SO much during spring, summer, and autumn.
The Furniture
I started out by choosing the perfect patio furniture. Thankfully the space is covered, but after experiencing a big storm during our first week of ownership, we realized that it also gets completely wet. I wanted the furniture to stand the test of time, be child and pool friendly, and also be beautiful.
I found this set at Raymour and Flanigan and fell in love! They have so many beautiful patio sets, but the Sea Drift set stole my heart. The fabric is a “Sunbrella” material, which was a nonnegotiable for me after doing a ton of research – supposed to be the best of the best for outdoor furniture! There was a ketchup disaster this weekend and it wiped right off. I was shook.
Raymour and Flanigan graciously gifted the set to me, and I am thrilled to say it absolutely exceeds expectations! Delivery was exceptional (I’ve been a R&F customer for over 10 years and always have amazing experiences), and they offer really great warranty and protection plans.
The Rug
Next, I grabbed this rug from Boutique Rugs. It is an indoor-outdoor rug that feels so soft. I get the appeal of the palsticy outdoor rugs, I wanted something soft that the baby could crawl around and play on. The 7×10 is the perfect size to go with the furniture! The Details
We did a little shopping at Pottery Barn to find some decor pieces. I love going to the store because I can move things around and really see my vision. It helps to see and feel the texture!
Target’s outdoor items are on point this year. I am in love with all things Studio McGee. Basic, but I don’t care. They are too good! I bought a ton of beautiful citronella candles to keep on the coffee table when we are relaxing in the evenings. I also purchased both sizes of these outdoor baskets to keep pool stuff in, like towels and toys.
Decor
I want to get a few potted plants and maybe add in some string lights or lanterns. It would also be fun to maybe have a small bar situation on the empty wall!
I pinch myself every time I walk out onto the porch. The vibes are immaculate, and I am so thankful for this little slice of peace!
Girl I had to get rid of all social media because it just isn’t good for me. You are def one of my fave people to follow and every now and then I come over here to look.
I’m a very tall plus size so thank you for sharing clothing ideas with me 😌.
You bought a house?!?! Or just a vacay home?! Either way, so exciting!!! Congratulations!
Hey, girl! Just a vacay home to spend weekends and summers! <3
