So sit back, grab your favorite makeup products, and let us guide you to a beautiful and confident look that will last all day.
Step 1: Prep Your Skin with SPF
Before you start applying your foundation, it’s important to prep your skin properly, and one of the most crucial steps in the process is applying SPF. Not only will it protect your skin from harmful UV rays and help prevent premature aging, it is going to give your skin a hydrated base for the makeup to lay on.
Step 2: Apply Foundation
To achieve a flawless base, applying foundation is key. When selecting a foundation, ensure that it matches your skin tone and type. It should blend smoothly and evenly, without leaving any patches on your skin. For more full-coverage foundations, I like to use a brush to really press it into the skin.
Start by applying the foundation on the center of your face and blend it outwards towards your hairline and jawline. Use a light hand and build up the coverage gradually, to avoid a cakey or heavy finish. Remember to also apply the foundation on your neck!
Step 3: Conceal Any Imperfections
To complete your flawless base makeup routine, it’s time to tackle any imperfections. Whether it’s dark circles, blemishes, or redness, concealer can help even out your skin tone and give you a smooth and flawless finish.
Start by choosing a shade that matches your skin tone or one that’s slightly lighter for under-eye circles. Using a small brush or your fingertip, dab a small amount of concealer onto the area you want to cover and blend it outwards. Be sure to blend well to avoid any noticeable lines or patches. When you think you have blended enough, keep going for just a few more seconds!
Step 4: Add Warmth and Dimension
Now that you have created a flawless base, it’s time to add warmth and dimension back into your face. Using a cream bronzer, lightly apply it along your cheekbones, temples, and jawline to create a natural-looking shadow effect. This will not only add warmth to your skin, but also define and sculpt your face.
I try to use as many cream products as I can to create a seamless, skin like finish.
Step 5: Add a Pop of Color and Glow
Don’t forget to add a pop of color and glow to bring some life back to your face. First, let’s focus on your cheeks. Apply a natural-looking blush to the apples of your cheeks and blend it out towards your ears and up the temples. This will give you a healthy flush and bring lots of attention to your cheekbones.
Next, apply a highlighter to the high points of your face – the bridge of your nose, cupid’s bow, and cheekbones. A little goes a long way, so use a light hand when applying. This will give you a subtle but noticeable glow.
Step 6: Time to Set
Alright! You’ve applied your foundation and concealer, and your skin is looking pretty flawless. However, you don’t want your hard work to go to waste, so it’s time to lock it all in. That’s where setting powder and a little setting spray come in. Setting powder is a crucial step in any makeup routine, as it helps to prevent creasing and smudging.
I like to only set the areas of my face that get oily or may crease, like my T-Zone and under eye area. If you have ultra-dry skin, you can probably skip setting your makeup all together!
Once you’ve applied your setting powder, spray all over with your favorite setting spray! Your makeup will stay in place all day, and you don’t have to worry about touch-ups.
Achieving a flawless base makeup look doesn’t have to be a daunting task. This whole routine only takes a few minutes, and you can transform your not-so-perfect skin into a beautiful canvas that will last all day. Don’t be afraid to experiment and find what works best for you. If try out this routine, and let me know how it works for you!
