I think I was a little too late to the 90’s to ever own a pair of Dr Marten’s growing up. I just missed the trend. But now that combat boots are back in style with full force, I grabbed a pair to rock this fall and winter.
They aren’t the easiest boot to style. They are clunky, hit at a funky spot on my leg, and feel like a whole lot of boot! Despite being basic and black, they sure do make a statement!
I wanted to show you guys three different outfits I would wear with these combat boots and chat a little bit about why I think each one works!

One of the key tips I have for styling a boot like this, is to not overwhelm the rest of your outfit with leather. Skip the faux leather leggings or a black leather bag. Mix up the textures with suede accessories or canvas bags.
My next tip for styling your combat boots, is to make sure you bottoms either fully tuck into your boots or that you cuff them above! Don’t ever put your jeans OVER your boots. Definite no-no.
My last tip is put those boots to good use and dress them up! Or down, however you want to see it. Dr Marten’s look awesome with skirts and dresses, from mini, to midi and even maxi! Just be sure to show some leg!
