We all know that I am a beauty junkie and have a bit of an obsession with lipstick and skin care. But I rarely buy high end beauty products throughout the year. I hoard a master list of things I really want and wait for Sephora to have a sale. Beauty bits aren’t often discounted, so I really try to make the most of these sales.
Sephora usually does a sale twice a year, and the spring one is always my favorite. I just feel ready for a refresh in both my makeup and skin care routine. Plus, I save all the gift cards from my March birthday. This is my version of the olympics.

HOW THE SALE WORKS
The sale is open to Beauty Insider members. This is Sephora’s free rewards program. You do need to sign up in order to shop the sale, but it is a great way to earn rewards and take advantage of the few sales a year they have.
There are three different tiers to the Beauty Insider program, and the sale is based on what level you are currently at.
ROUGE
20% OFF FROM 4/17-5/1
VIB
15% OFF FROM 4/21-4/29
BEAUTY INSIDER
10% OFF FROM 4/23-4/27
While 10% off may not seem like a lot, in the world of high end beauty, any discount is more than worth it! Also, if your purchase moves you up to the next tier, it automatically gives you the higher discount.
KEYS TO SHOPPING THE SALE
There is no need to take this sale seriously, or even shop if you aren’t in need of anything. But when I tell you I wait for this sale, I really really do. I like to have a plan in place before hand, because I can get a little out of hand.
- STICK TO YOUR BUDGET – This is the most important thing to remember during ANY sale. Make a budget of what you can realistically spend and stick to it. There will always be another sale, and even if you end up needing to restock your favorite moisturizer later in the year at full price, the discount right now isn’t worth over extending yourself. It really isn’t THAT big of a deal.
- MAKE TWO LISTS – This might not be needed for everyone, but for a beauty-a-holic like myself, I like to lay my priorities out for what I really want or what I feel like I need. I make two lists. One of things that I know I will repurchase throughout the year, usually skin care items, mascara or concealer. The other list is a “wants” list. A new palette, a pricier mask, things that are extra or new to me.
- DO YOUR RESEARCH – Right now, we can’t go in store to color match foundations or grab a sample. It is super important that you do a little research to make sure what you are buying is going to be worth it for YOU. There are some great color matching tools online, as well as plenty of resources to look for products that would be good for your skin type or current needs.
MY TWO LISTS
I am sharing my two lists with you guys. I will NOT be purchasIing every single item on the wish list, as I plan to stick to my budget. But these are the things that are sitting in my cart, waiting to be edited down to a somewhat reasonable purchase.
THE REPURCHASE EDIT
- HOURGLASS VANISH CONCEALER IN COTTON – This is my favorite concealer of all time. Super full coverage, but lightweight and hydrating.
- FARMACY JUMBO GREEN CLEAN CLEANSING BALM – Do I need to talk about this again? It is the best of the best, and I can never be without.
- DRUNK ELEPHANT PROTINI POLYPEPTIDE MOISTURIZER – This is my favorite daily moisturizer. Hydrating but light and doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily at the end of the day.
- TATCHA KISSU LIP MASK – TIBAL convinced me to buy this and it is just as good as she said. WAY better than the Laneige!
- FIRST AID BEAUTY FACIAL RADIANCE PADS – This are a skin care staple for me. Gentle but effective!
- CHARLOTTE TILBURY MAGIC FOUNDATION IN 3.5 – Holy grail foundation. The only full coverage foundation I have found to last all day without a primer.
- OLAPLEX HAIR PERFECTOR NO 3 – This is as magical as everyone says, promise! It has changed my hair in just a few weeks! I use it once a week.
- URBAN DECAY ALL NIGHTER SETTING SPRAY – My very favorite setting spray!
- BRIOGEO SCALP REVIVAL THERAPY KIT – I’ve used this hair mask, but I am excited to grab the scalp massager. I have been feeling like I have quite a bit of build up lately!
