The Spanx Faux Leather Leggings have a bit of a cult reputation, and I can totally see why. They are super versatile, add something extra to a basic leggings outfit, and kind of make you feel like a badass. They are a whole lot of look for me, and styling them can be a little bit of a challenge.
I have styled them before and am definitely a bit of an outfit repeater. I just like what I like, and can’t seem to get away from that. Whether you are going to the office, meeting friends for brunch, or just running around town, there are so many ways to wear these in the fall.
STYLE AND SIZING NOTES
- MIX YOUR LEATHER – The leggings are a bit on the shinier side, and adding in a shiny/patent leather can cheapen the look a bit. I like to stick to primarily other fabrics to tone down the leather or wear suede!
- COVER THE FRONT AND THE BACK – Lots of ladies like to rock these as pants. But I still am firmly in camp leggings are not pants unless you are at the gym. These definitely run snug, so covering the bum and the crotch just makes me feel a lot more comfortable.
- SIZING – I wear the 3X in the Spanx. I am a 24/26 and can’t lie. They are tight. I would love to have to option to go up a size. I will be on the hunt for a comparable pair with a more generous size range this fall. If you are on the fence about sizing, definitely go up! They suck everything in like Spanx always do. They also run long. If you are below 5’7″ I would suggest getting petite!

Hi!! Thank you for sharing your styling tips. I’ve been wanting these leggings but I’m not always super confident I can pull them off. Question: I have big thighs and whatever pants/jeans I wear, the inner thighs always get frayed and thin out. Are these leggings thigh proof?
I got impatient waiting for the spank ones to come back and ordered the all worthy brand from qvc. They’re a little swishy, but fit well and came in petite lengths – perfect for me being only 5’ tall and a size 18/20 😁

What are the most comfortable jeans to get to wear / not tight I’m a 16/18 as I love the distressed jeans??
