Alright, guys. The time has come for us all to love Nordstrom till it becomes a dreaded four letter word. This will be my fourth year shopping the sale, and I have to say I am pretty excited about it.
I wish Nordstrom would include the plus size offerings in the catalog, or at least a few of the stand out items, but alas…. As always, plus is left out of the fun. But I will be staying up to get the best items here on the blog for you guys and will update this post when the sale goes live with my top choices.
For now, I wanted to share some details about the sale and let you in on a few of my favorite accessories, shoes and bags that will be included in the sale.

If you aren’t familiar with the sale, every year in July, Nordstrom gives shoppers the chance to get a preview of fall and winter items at a discount. The sale lasts for three weeks, AKA five years in the blogging world, and then everything goes back up in price for the remainder of the season.
It is a great time to score coats, boots, handbags and such that are investment items. There is a lot of fluff in the sale that can be worth it for trend pieces.. But for the most part I stick to staples that my wardrobe has been lacking.

I know shopping the sale can be totally overwhelming and there is a lot of skepticism about whether or not it is worth it. And here is my personal take on things. It is SO easy to get caught up in the frenzy and feel massive FOMO about the sale. Especially if you aren’t a Nordstrom credit card holder. But it is all just clothes. If things sell out, that is ok. You are just missing out on a shirt. not the world. Don’t get stressed, over stretch your budget or buy things you wouldn’t normally just because they are on sale.
STRATEGY
It is best to go into the sale with a strategy. It will help things from feeling over the top and keep you and your shopping cart in check. I do this for myself, and think it has worked really well in the past!
Make a list of things you NEED
Before you shop, go through your closet and think about the fall and winter months. What did you wish you had last year? What trends are you interested in trying this year? Do you want a utility jacket? Have you been dying to try a pair of more expensive jeans? Are you in need of a new pair of loafers? Maybe you just want some new workout gear. Make the list to start.
Set a budget
Seriously. Set a realistic budget. The first year I shopped the sale I went way over what I should have spent and ended up with no clothing budget for the next two month while I made up for it. And it was totally needless. I know it feels like you HAVE TO SHOP NOW, but I promise there will be another sale, or a different jacket that you can buy later when you have the funds.
Be prepared
You have to know that some things are going to sell out. Even if you shop at midnight that first night. It is part of the hype that Nordstrom builds to entice you to shop fast and messy. But we don’t fall into those traps, right? Be prepared to miss out on a few things or to search for an alternative.
Be prepared to return if it doesn’t work for you. Just because something is on sale, you shouldn’t have to sacrifice on quality or fit. Even if someone else is telling you how amazing it is. If it doesn’t work for you, your body, and your lifestyle, you DO NOT need it.
THE GOODS
And now, we are onto the good stuff. I am going to update this when the sale goes live, and I know more about what will be in the plus size section. I will also share exactly what I buy from the sale, and it might not be as much as you may expect! I don’t want to just add things because they are on sale!
