Why is is that makeup gets all the glory? I love a bold lip and flawless skin as much as the next girl, but skincare is where it is at for me. Give me a good cleanser or a radiance boosting mask, and I am yours!

I have struggled with adult acne for…. pretty much all of my adult life! Being 30 and still getting pimples is a bit of a low blow, universe! Especially when taking good care of my skin is such a priority for me. I finally got a decent handle on the acne front a year or so ago, but then found my skin was in a serious drought.
Dry, flaky skin that looked older than it should. Especially around my eyes and mouth. Hello, fine lines! Thanks for making an appearance, can you leave now? SO frustrating!
I finally decided to try the much talked about Tula skincare. There was an awesome deal on QVC a while back and I couldn’t say no! I had been curious about them as a brand after seeing them all over social media. Needless to say, my skin has never been better. I still have some old acne scarring and pigmentation, but the big, hurtful pimples have all but disappeared!
The best part of this is that I have gotten an awesome discount code for you guys, so you can try out a few new products, too! Use the code MADDYG for 20% off your order!
For my skin care routine, I do almost exactly the same thing, morning and night.
Cleanse
Twice a day, I use the Tula Purifying Cleanser. This is the first foaming cleanser I have ever tried that doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight and stripped of it’s natural moisture. It is great at balancing my skin, and after I wash, my face feels fresh and bright!
Treat
Once my skin is free of any makeup or impurities, I treat my dry skin with the BEST serum for hydration. I pop one pump of the Aqua Infusion Power Liquid onto my finger tips and gently sweep it over my face and neck. It is super lightweight and packed with hyaluronic acid and probiotics to plump up the skin without leaving it oily or greasy.
Eye Cream
I think I started using eye cream around the time I turned 25 and noticed an immediate difference. My under eyes are super sensitive, and I can’t just use anything. The Tula Multi Spectrum Eye Renewal Serum nourishes my eye area while still being light in texture; it’s the perfect eye cream for under makeup!
Hydrate
I’ve tried both the Aqua Infusion Gel Cream and the Hydrating Day and Night Cream. They are both amazing, but I love the boost that my skin gets from the Day and Night cream. It is ultra rich and moisturizing, without being heavy or making my skin break out. It gives my skin an awesome, hydrated base for makeup, and I wake up with radiant, glowing skin when I use this at night.
Sunscreen
In the mornings, I am religious about adding a sunscreen before my makeup. I went years without using sun protection and am paying for it now in my thirties. My favorite by far is the Super Goop Everyday Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50. This isn’t going to clog your pores, is made with pretty amazing ingredients and won’t break you out.
Make Up Remover
I’m a big proponent of double cleansing. You can’t cleanse your skin if there is a layer of pollution, dirt, makeup, and sunscreen on. You have to get all that gunk off first, and then you can go in with a traditional cleanser like the Purifying Cleanser. At night, I go in first with the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. I literally melts every little bit of makeup off, including waterproof mascara. I’m obsessed and on my third tub. A little goes a long way, and it will last you ages!
