Between you and I, favorites lists are probably my favorite blog posts, YouTube videos and IG stories to watch. I LOVE seeing what other people deem their “favorite” products. Partly because I am super nosey, and partly because I am always on the hunt for the best items in life!
I have a pretty strict rule in my home, that if I don’t love something, it doesn’t have a place in my house. I Marie Kondo’d my life way before the 2019 phenomenon and have lived some version of it ever since. I truly think that everything around us, especially in our home, should sparky joy.
I have found a few things this month that have quickly made it into my favorites, and I thought I would share them here! Everything from recipes, to makeup, to my number one purchase of the month. These are all things that have found a spot in my home and in my life.

Beauty
I may or may not have a “Gifts” Pinterest board that I put things I am currently lusting after. Ladies, listen up! This is the most genius thing to do ever! Let your husband know about it and whenever they want to surprise you or it is a special occasion, they don’t have to ask you what you want. They have a huge list of different things you would love to get, but can’t justify purchasing just for fun. Even though you put the things on a list, you never know what they will pick.
My husband did REAL good for Christmas this year, and spoiled me a little more than I expected. He peeked into my Gifts board and grabbed this Charlotte Tilbury palette that I had been eyeing up since they released. Years ago. But I never wanted to splurge on a quad shadow palette. This is 100% worth the money and I haven’t used another eyeshadow since I got it.
Style
I went a little overboard with shopping for clothes, but I have been feeling really uninspired with my wardrobe and needed to add in a few staples to freshen things up a bit. There were three stand out things that I am so glad I grabbed!
Amazon is killing it with their new clothing lines, and these two basics are some of the best that I have ever tried. I love the longer fit, great for my long torso. And the material is buttery soft.
Love that this top is long enough for leggings, has a wide band across the bottom and slits on the sides for a super comfortable and flowy fit.
This is the perfect layering top. It is also long enough for leggings, fitted through the sleeves with a scoop hem. And So. Dang. Soft
A Madewell Transport tote has been on my wishlist for a solid year. But I wasn’t sure which one, what size, or which color I would get the most use out of. The Drawstring Medium tote has been my dream bag. Enough to be a bit like a Mary Poppins bag, but not too much that I can’t lug it around the city all day. Plus, it is just gorgeous.
Favorite Recipe
I have made a few too many chocolate chip cookies this month, and they never fail me. But don’t worry! I have balanced it out with plenty of veggies. Shockingly, I have stuck to a decent meal plan and made some yummy new recipes.
Jess, from HowSweetEats.com, is one of my favorite food bloggers. She has bright and colorful photos, and her recipes are the perfect mix of indulgent but still fresh and healthy.
I’ve been on a major Brussels sprouts kick, and oh.my.god. This is the one and only recipe you will ever need. Sweet and spicy, crispy and warm. They are the perfect side during the week. Or just to snack. Good luck having any left by the time the serving dish gets to the table.

Entertainment
I’m cruising through my winter reading list and have checked off a few. I just devoured Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow on Audible, and it was amazing. If you are any kind of Harry Potter fan or lover of fantasy, you must read this series!
As for TV, Mr Gutierrez and I can’t stop binge watching Game of Thrones in preparation for April. Winter is coming and I AM READY FOR IT.
Family
January has felt like the longest month ever to exist, and we have taken things a bit slower as a family. I really struggle with not feeling the need to be busy and go-go-go 24 hours a day.
But that doesn’t mean we haven’t done anything fun! We spent a few days out in the Hamptons at the beginning of the month to rest and refresh as the new year started. We have parked, museumed and made our way through quite a few bowls of Ramen at Ippudo to keep warm through the month.
What has been the highlight of your January?
