Gosh, can we talk about how grateful I am that January is finally over? It feels like it lasted an eternity! Despite it being a great month, I still ended the month feeling a bit lacking in a few departments. I don’t know what it is, but sometimes I can’t help but be a little too hard on myself!
One way to get myself out of a funk is to refocus and start fresh. I have always loved a Monday, and the first Monday of a month is always my favorite. A clean slate. A fresh page in my planner. I always feel so motivated and ready to go.
I love sharing my goals with you guys, because I like to be real and honest with where I am at. Personally, for my business, and always in motherhood. I get so inspired by seeing where other people are in life and what they are looking forward to achieving. There is a fine line between being encouraged and being discouraged. I try to choose the former!
This month looks a little different than past months, as I have taken baby making off the agenda for the time being. The first year of trying for our second was so much fun. But towards the end, it got a little stressful. And for the past year, the back and forth with fertility doctors, trying our different medications and feeling frustrated with myself, I am taking a step back and focusing my efforts elsewhere for a little while.
Self
This is a hard one to share, but goes back to expanding our family. I love myself, and have never been more comfortable in my body and in my skin. But I need to change a few habits and make a more conscious effort before we take the next steps in fertility treatments this summer! And lose a few pounds, if I am honest. I think setting specific, realistic goals is always the most effective, so here is my breakdown!
- Eat a lower carb/paleo diet Sunday through Friday, giving myself some flexibility on Saturdays to enjoy date night or a glass of wine.
- Be active four times per week. I already walk 2 miles every day, and recently started up Couch to 10K. I want to stick with that, and add in two or three days of strength training.
- Stay off the scale. I have a very bad relationship with the scale, so I am going to hold off on weighing myself until the end of the month.
- Hit my protein macro each day! This is one of the most important things my fertility nutritionist has stressed, and I am going to keep working on it.
Business
Friday was actually my last day at my full time job! And I couldn’t be more excited to take on blogging and momming full time. It is a little bit scary to give up a secure income, but this is my passion! And I am ready to give it my all. I will spare you the details, but big things are coming!
- Secure three strategic partnerships.
- Learn more about maximizing reach and audience.
- Continue to give back to my readers!
- Rock my first professional shoot for blog content!
Fun and Family
With the Polar Vortex finally leaving the city, I have been able to get just the smallest taste of spring. And I am more than ready for it! It finally feels like there is hope on the horizon and light in the sky! But… I still need to find a little sunshine in my life.
- Book, shop and plan out our trip to the Dominican Republic. We will be going over my birthday in March, and I can’t wait to take Marcus!
- Disconnect more. I often feel like I Need to be glued to my phone or answer emails the minute the reach my inbox. But I have some specific “work hours” I am going to try my best to keep.
- Date the life out of my handsome husband. We have been through so much in our eight years together. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
- Be the best mom I have been able to be in a long time. Working full time really took a lot out of me. I have so much respect for working and stay at home moms alike. But I am excited to get back in the groove of actually having time and energy for my sidekick.
What goals do you have for the month? How are your resolutions coming along?
