I don’t know the last time I felt this chilled out and relaxed. Granted, going away from home with a baby is a whole other animal that requires SO much gear, but being out near the beach has been so good for the soul. We really haven’t done all that much outside of hang by the pool, which was exactly what I wanted!
I’m generally all about minimalism, but I also don’t want to have to move once we are situated. Nothing worse than realizing you need to run back into the house or out to the car while dripping wet.
POOL DAY ESSENTIALS
You know that it would be impossible for me to even mention being outside without Glow Screen. This is my ride-or-die facial sunscreen for so many reasons. It has a slight tint that slightly evens out my skin and leaves me looking like a hydrated queen.
I have also discovered my love for the Drizly app. All your beverage needs delivered to your door a la Uber Eats. From my favorite rosé to bitters, mixers, and even ice. Literally never need to leave your house. Hydrating is essential when out in the sun, and even more so when you have a drink on hand. I don’t leave the house without a Hydroflask, so it is obviously my BFF by the pool, too.
If you are someone who likes to wear a little mascara at the pool, I’m right there with you. This is the best waterproof mascara that won’t budge in the water but comes off like a dream with a cleansing balm. I recently bought this gorgeous picnic blanket from Anthro, and love it. It is a thin, woven material, so it rolls up super small and also dries really quickly. It has been the perfect blanket to throw in the grassy shade for quick lunches or a game of Uno.
